Primary Purpose & Scope

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Packaging Manager is responsible to deliver a smart packaging solutions and processes together with Packaging Engineer, to meet the required budget, timeline, market, quality, efficiency, and regulatory requirements of our rewards development for our global customer base. Managing data collection with Operations Manager for reporting and baselining of key performance indicators related to packaging and etc.
Role and Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities including the following:
- Work with packaging engineer and stakeholders to develop smart packaging solutions within agreed budgets, timeline, comply with regulatory requirements, company sustainability policies and KPIs
- Incorporate consumer and industry research into packaging designs. Carry out in-depth investigation into the latest trends, pricing, materials and sustainability solutions
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders involved in the manufacturing and implementation processes of product packaging at all developmental phases
- Ensure fit for purpose product packaging that will hold integrity throughout the journey to destinations
- Improve pack sizes through the business to optimize space use and flow of goods more efficiently from factories to warehouses/ stores
- Co-ordinate with all internal departments to develop and maintain the master packaging guide
- Implement data collection, analytics and maintain packaging related data in Sourcing database and/or related APPs and Systems

Internal: Sourcing, Packaging, Creative service, Category, Sustainability, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, Economics, Information Technology or equivalent with minimum 3 years of solid work experience
- Good knowledge of current packaging technologies and trends including all plastic and non-plastic sustainable options, packaging materials end of life and recycling streams
- Understanding of packaging manufacturing processes and print technologies
- Good data analytic skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of raw data into reports
- A self-motivated team player and effective communicator who can collaborate and work well with all levels of people
- Creative and innovative, able to think “out of the box” yet ensure strict compliance of regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills to find solutions to packaging or design problems so that the final product is effective
- Able to work under time pressure and independently
- Mature and passionate about work, possess a can-do attitude
- Good mix of strategy and hands-on mentality
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Preferred technically skilled in relevant computer software and design programs, i.e. Artios CAD Advance, Adobe, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat DC, Cape Pack Advanced
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin
